Born and raised on the prairies of Kansas,
I have called Northern New Mexico my home since 1993.
My passion for photographing the Southwest and Southern Rocky Mountains was immediate. Stealing a phrase from songwriter Sonny Landreth, I refer to myself as a Native Stepson. My style is as diverse as the New Mexico
landscape. From the alpine settings of my home in Red River to the high deserts
of Taos and Santa Fe or the
serenity of an ancient ruin, my subject matter changes as fast as a sunset in the mountains. From the grandest of vistas to the simplest of things, not much escapes my lens. So often it is the simple scene that conjures up memories, feelings or emotions in someone that the rest
of us can’t even try to understand. Whether it’s a tear in the eye
of a woman looking at a photo of a flower in a window or a couple gazing into each other’s eyes after seeing a photo
of snow, I’ve learned not to even ask, but to just consider it a job well done. Please
enjoy my photos.
